Bar Capture
This function allows you to scan and save a bar code to send to technical support. This can assist in determining where errors
are coming from after scanning bar codes in to AMS. To do this:
- With your cursor in the Scan Data field, scan the bar code in question. Once it has been read, you will
see the text below it, and possibly a bar code type description, such as Code 39.
- Select Save and OK.
- Select Data and Send to PC to download your scanner.
- On your AMS computer, select Setup, Data Maintenance and AMS Support.
Select the Send Problem BCR Scanned Labels button. This will create a zip file on your desktop,
such as AMSHelpBCRScanLabels.zip.
- Rename the file extension to .piz to prevent your attachment from getting stripped from your email.
- If your computer has Microsoft Outlook installed, an email will automatically be created for you to send.
If not, you can use another email program to send this file to amshelp@gdit.com.
