Outbound - HAZMAT
Hazardous items within transportation need to be classified as HAZMAT.
This section can be used by your local HAZMAT expert to create
HAZMAT forms that are required before the contents can be
transported. To begin:
- Select the Outbound menu.
- Select HAZMAT.
- If you need to select a TCN that was already entered, select Existing TCN.
If you wish to narrow your search, you may enter the TCN number in the TCN
box just below these buttons. Once you select your TCN, you will skip ahead to the
Header Information screen.
- To enter a new record, select New TCN.
- Enter the TCN number. This is the 17 digit transportation control
number for the box, located on the box label.
- Enter the Ship From. This is the 6 digit address code for the unit
that shipped the box.
- Enter the Mark For. This is the 6 digit address code for the unit
that the box is going to.
- Enter the transportation Priority. 1 is the highest priority and
4 is the lowest.
- Enter the Piece #.
- Enter the Type Pack. This is a 2 digit code, such as BX for box.
- Enter the Weight and Cube of the box.
- You may enter any further info you have, such as the Container B/L, Description,
Shipment Type, or Project Code.
- Be sure to Save your changes.
- Next, you'll be brought to the Header Information screen. Before filling this in, you'll need to
select the form you wish to create using the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen:
- The DD-836 is used for ground or sea transport. Enter all necessary
information about this HAZMAT on the Header Information screen, such as the
nomenclature, remarks, and shipper certifier. Be sure to Save
your changes.
- The AMC/IMT 1033 is used for air transport. Enter all necessary
information about this HAZMAT on the Header Information screen, such as the
airport departure and destination, remarks, and shipper certifier. Be sure
to Save your changes.
- The DD-2890 is used for ground or sea transport. Enter all necessary
information about this HAZMAT on the Header Information screen, such as the
transport document #, carrier, port of loading and discharge, remarks, and shipper
certifier. Be sure to Save your changes.
- Select the HAZMAT Details tab at the top of the screen. Enter all necessary information about
the HAZMAT details on this screen, such as the UN ID, HAZMAT class, and subsidiary class. You
may enter multiple detail lines for this HAZMAT as needed.
- Be sure to Save your changes.
- Select Print to view the report and print copies as needed for transport.
The command buttons perform the following functions:
Print Format – Switches the form to either DD-836, AMC/IMT 1033, or DD-2890.
Print – Prints a copy of the selected HAZMAT report.
Save – Saves your changes.
